The issue of an AFL team in Tasmania is always bubbling in the Tasmanian consciousness, but it’s getting more media time than usual lately because the state’s premier, Peter Gutwein, has been talking up our passion and staring down the AFL over continuation of the agreements with Hawthorn and North Melbourne to play “home” games far from home. Mr Gutwein is raising our hopes. Let’s hope this keeps going. Meanwhile, we thought we’d do our bit to keep the flame of hope alight by reprising some old material and posting some new material on the subject.
