TASMANIAN LENS
writer and photographer PEN TAYLER
The Dove Lake boatshed has held a special place in my heart since I was very young, which is quite a long time ago. So long ago that there was actually a timber rowing boat in it. My parents used to lift my brother and I into the boat in our little canvas lifejackets, and my father would row us across the lake to one of the beaches that was, in those days, inaccessible via a walking track, where we would have a picnic and boil the billy. So it was more than just the reflection in the water of the boatshed that I was photographing.
