Tungatinah Power Station, build between 1953 and 1956 on the Upper River Derwent catchment in the Central Highlands of Tasmania, was the second power station built under Tasmania’s hydro-electric scheme. The pipes have two functions. The first is to provide water to turbines to generate electricity. The second is to excite photographers like Garry Sims.
