OPENING TUESDAY 13th September 5.30pm

A connection to place informs my painting, a growing appreciation of the Island I have lived on all my life. As fast as things change, things stay the same. The hills and paddocks change each year dependant on weather, yet they are still those same hills and paddocks shrouded in a distinctive atmosphere only we enjoy here in Tasmania. These works have been driven by the emotive qualities of light and weather. Bright light, emerging light, darkness, fog and cloud all influence our everyday lives. Painting the landscape helps understand it.
Lisa Moroney, 2022

Lisa Moroney brings us the tranquil and reflective moods of landscape from the Tasmanian Midlands. Lisa completed Bachelor Fine Arts (Painting) University of Tasmania 2014 and further specialist painting courses at the National Art School, Sydney. Her work has since gained recognition in national awards including Glover Prize 2020 and the Henry Jones Art Award 2021.
Her works delight and gently inform us.
