Our favourite epicurean and food writer, Fiona Stocker, recently celebrated what she called a “milestone birthday”. Like many intelligent, confident, sophisticated people, Fiona is coy about stating her age, so we’re not sure if the milestone was her 20th or her 21st.

Celebratory activities included travel to childhood haunts, which in the case of Fiona Stocker means the Lake District National Park in England, where she is pictured. Clearly, purple hiking boots are in this season, but it’s unclear why Fiona felt the need to visit childhood haunts when her childhood was so recent.
