In the rainforest

Words and video by Pen Tayler

I have been walking along the track beside Pencil Pine Falls and the Pencil Pine Creek at Cradle Mountain since I was barely able to walk. On this occasion my partner and I were staying at Waldheim. After a night of heavy rain, we woke to an overcast day and I knew the rainforest around the falls and the creek would be soaked in moisture creating a rich green tapestry of moss, lichen, leaves and fallen logs.  Walking into the forest, I felt a single photograph couldn’t quite do it justice.
